Our Story Begins in 1899

For more than 125 years, the Winton Hotel has stood at the heart of the community. Originally built by local publican Eli Williams, the hotel quickly became a meeting place for graziers, railway workers, travellers and local families during the pioneering days of Outback Queensland.

Over the decades, the town has grown and changed, but the Winton Hotel has remained a familiar landmark where stories are shared, friendships are made and visitors experience genuine country hospitality. It continues the tradition that began more than a century ago—welcoming everyone through its doors with a cold drink, a hearty meal and a warm Outback welcome.
